The customer used a prepackaged open source ecommerce platform, Prestashop.
The increase in needs has made the platform unstable and insecure also due to incompatibility between the installed modules and the theme; error messages were becoming more frequent.
Another problem was given by bugs on the topic, which limited e-commerce in viewing pages on mobile devices (responsive mode).
The recovery of the customer database, brands, categories and above all of the articles with related photos and variations from the old store was indispensable, we are talking about several thousand products.
The export was made possible thanks to the creation of an export module and the reverse re-engineering of a portion of the Prestashop database; specifically, “ex novo” extraction queries were created to recover the data. The operation allowed the recovery of all the necessary material at reduced costs and without the expenditure of time by the customer in re-entering the data, there is talk of a time saving of about 30-40 working days of "data entry".
On the new electronic store, the management of banners on the home page has been improved, the management of categories and articles has been improved; excellent finishes have been made in the creation of the site in responsive mode (layout for mobile devices).
Please note that the new project is based on an Attiva Web proprietary ecommerce platform and that "pre-packaged" platforms have not been used, the same goes for the graphic layout.
